LCA Community Service Club: Harvesters-CANCELLED

When: Friday, February 8th, 10am-12pm (please meet at the entrance at 9:50am)

Where: Harvesters’ Kansas City facility, 3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64129

Who: Students and parents, age 8 and up. Up to 30 volunteers can attend.

The following are important things you need to know about volunteering in our warehouse:

• Children under the age of 8 are not permitted in the warehouse for safety reasons.
• Closed toed shoes are required.
• Dress casually (jeans and t-shirts, and sweatshirts to layer in the winter)
• Please leave all valuable jewelry at home. This includes rings which may come off in the packing process.
• No food, gum, or drinks are permitted in the warehouse.
• Cell phone usage is not permitted in the warehouse.
• All volunteers must be free of contagious illness (runny nose, colds, the flu, strep throat, etc)

Parking Information

• Parking will be limited due to ongoing construction which has eliminated all parking behind our facility. Carpooling will be essential for all volunteer groups as shift capacity is larger than the number of parking spaces available. Carpooling will ensure everyone is able to park onsite during the day.
• Forty-four (44) parking spots are available in our front visitor parking lot for volunteers.
• If the front lot is full in the afternoon, a handful of cars may park along the east side of Topping Avenue.

Event Description:

Volunteers will be sorting and repackaging donated product in our Volunteer Engagement Center (VEC). Must be eight years or older to participate; students 15 years old and younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Families are welcome but please remember to register each member who will be volunteering! Please contact Volunteer Services to schedule your corporate team, service club, scout troop, class, etc.
